NAFDMA Members' Choice Contests
NAFDMA Members' Choice Contests
Each year, NAFDMA members can submit their newsletters,
brochures, Web site and/or corn maze design for peer judging. Judging takes place at the annual
conference, and conference attendees do the judging. You don’t need to attend
the conference to enter the contest, but attending the contest allows you to
see all contest entries. It’s a great opportunity to pick up some new ideas to
take back to the farm.
The winner in each category receives a ribbon and press
release issued to their local media. This has helped past winners generate some
great publicity.
What contests are available to enter?
We currently offer the following contests:

Outstanding Newsletter
Outstanding Specialty Printed Literature
Outstanding Web Site
Outstanding Maze Design

Send us an aerial photo that clearly shows your corn maze. Include a
caption that describes the maze experience for visitors.
What is specialty printed literature?
This is a catch-all category for door hangers, catalogs, coloring books, etc.
How do I enter my Web site?
The on-line form to submit your Web site will be open between
December 1 and December 22. In the meantime, you can see past winners by clicking here.
How are Web sites judged?
Web site judging is a three-part process. First, the entrants are pared down to the Top 10 by a consumer panel, which is asked to evaluate the Web sites by asking the following questions (and yes, they take the time to visit every Web site!):
1. Does the Web site work properly?
2. Is it engaging and appealing to you?
3. Would you go to their farm or farmers’ market?
Second, NAFDMA's Web Site Committee narrows the Top 10 down to the Top 5 based on some more technical criteria. Third, NAFDMA members are invited to vote for their favorite Web site. We e-mail all current NAFDMA members the links to the Top 5 Web sites.
