Members' Choice Contests

As a member benefit, NAFDMA offers a variety of peer-judged Member's Choice contests. Contests are open only to current NAFDMA members, and NAFDMA members choose the winners. All winners will be announced during the Awards Banquet. All contest winners receive a ribbon for display at their farm, and NAFDMA's communications director will write and distribute a press release to their local media.

Outstanding Newsletter
One of the fun things about an association like NAFDMA is the individuality of its members. This individuality is reflected in the variety of newsletters entered in the contest. This is your chance to show off your best newsletter from 2005 - and also to learn and pick up some new ideas from your NAFDMA colleagues. If you don't currently publish a farm newsletter, be sure to stop by the newsletter display board to see some examples of this effective marketing tool. You may be inspired to start your own farm newsletter.

To enter the contest, mail your newsletter to NAFDMA - Contests, 62 White Loaf Rd., Southampton, MA 01073-9251. Or, drop them off at the conference registration booth by 2 p.m. on Thursday. Voting begins at 3 p.m. Thursday and ends at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Outstanding Specialty/Targeted Brochure
Outstanding General Brochure
If you thought NAFDMA members produced a variety of newsletters, wait till you check out the brochures in this contest. The variety - and quality - is amazing! This is your chance to show off your best brochure from 2005; and also to learn and pick up some new ideas from your NAFDMA colleagues. If you're looking for ways to jazz up your farm brochure, be sure to stop by the brochure display board for some ideas.

This year we offer two brochure categories, one for general farm brochures, the other for brochures targeted at a specific audience or created to promote a specific part of your farm, such as Birthday Parties, School Tours, Special Events, and Picnic/Corporate Parties. Be sure to indicate in which category your brochure belongs. Any brochure entered without a category designation will automatically be entered in the General category.
To enter the contest, mail your brochure and category designation by Dec. 23 to NAFDMA - Contests, 62 White Loaf Rd., Southampton, MA 01073-9251. Or, drop it off at the conference registration booth by 2 p.m. on Thursday. Voting begins at 3 p.m. Thursday and ends at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Outstanding Web site
WOW!! Last year was our first Web contest, and we were amazed at the quality of our members' Web sites. This year, we expect Web site quality to shoot through the roof! If you think that your Web site stacks up to the best of your NAFDMA peers and want to see if they agree, then enter the contest. It's free!

All voting will take place before the conference, so be sure to send us your Web site address using the form that will be available on this Web page between Nov. 1 and Nov. 22. A consumer panel will screen all entries as they're narrowed down to the Top 5 for voting by NAFDMA members.
NAFDMA members will vote on their favorite Web site between Dec. 3-20. We will print the front pages of the Top 5 entries for display at the conference.
