You have many options for getting into Austin for the 2006 NAFDMA Conference and Trade Show.

All Pre-Conference Bus Tours begin in San Antonio at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel and end in Austin at the Hyatt Regency Austin. Your tour registration includes breakfasts and lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and dinner and a rodeo on Tuesday, tour stops, and tour materials. (Monday night’s dinner is on your own in historic San Antonio, and Wednesday night you’re on your own in lively Austin.) All bus tour registrants must ride on the bus. No exceptions.

On Sunday

• Travel to the Sheraton Gunter Hotel in San Antonio.
• Get settled into your hotel room. This is the room you will also have for Monday and Tuesday night, because you booked it yourself!
• Explore the city.
• Socialize in the NAFDMA tour registration and social room.

Travel

If you arrive by plane…Book your flight into San Antonio International Airport (SAT). You have several options of getting from the airport to the Sheraton Gunter Hotel.

1)      Taxi. Taxis cost about $15 to $17. This is the quickest way to get to the hotel.
2)      Shared-ride shuttles. These are $9 one-way to downtown, $16 round trip.
3)      City bus. If you’re not in a hurry, this one-hour route will cost 75 cents.

If you arrive by automobile…The following directions are from the Sheraton Gunter Web site. More detailed directions are also available from the site.

From the East - Proceed on I-37/State Highway 281 South into downtown. Take the Commerce Street Exit and turn right onto Commerce Street. Turn left onto Alamo Plaza and continue until you come to Travis Street. Turn left onto Travis Street and continue to St. Mary's Street, where you will turn left. The entrance to the hotel will be on the left.

From the North - Travel on I-10 West until you come to I-37 North. Proceed on I-37 North and exit at Commerce Street. Turn left onto Commerce Street and travel until you come to Navarro Street. Turn right onto Navarro Street and continue to Travis Street. Turn left onto Travis Street and continue to St. Mary's Street. The hotel drive is on the left.

From the West - Take I-35 North to I-37 South and exit at Commerce Street. Turn right onto Commerce Street and continue to Navarro Street. Turn right onto Navarro Street and travel until you come to Travis Street. Turn left onto Travis Street and follow to St. Mary's Street. Turn left onto St. Mary's Street, and the hotel drive is on the left.

From the South - Take I-37 North and exit at Commerce Street. Turn left onto Commerce Street and continue to Navarro Street. Turn right onto Navarro Street. Stay on Navarro Street until you come to Travis Street. Turn left onto Travis Street and proceed to St. Mary's Street. Turn left onto St. Mary's, and the hotel drive is on the left.

Where to Park...The Sheraton Gunter has valet parking available for $18 per night. Many public parking garages are also available near the hotel.
