Treinen Farm honored for Outstanding Maze Design
A giant corn maze whose design was inspired by 9-year-old boy was named Outstanding Maze Design at the recent North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Convention. Thomas Treinen came up with the idea for the corn maze for his parents, Alan and Angie Treinen, of Lodi, Wis. Angie Treinen designed the Enchanted Castle Maze. Conference attendees voted and choose the Treinen Farm maze as their favorite.
The contest is held every year in conjunction with NAFDMA’s annual conference. This year the conference was held in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., in February 2008. The convention is an annual event held by the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA). NAFDMA members from throughout North American submitted their maze designs to the annual Members’ Choice Contests.
Alan and Angie Treinen are the third generation to farm the 200-acre Treinen Farm just five miles west of Lodi, Wis. The farm produces hay, corn, soybeans, free-range chickens, beef, pork, and their popular corn maze and pumpkin patch.
The Treinen Farm welcomed over 15,000 visitors to the farm last year, and each year that number grows.
Treinen Farm opens for the season in August. Visit www.treinenfarm.com for more information.
